ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILD REPORTING RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the State of Illinois has enacted the Abused and Neglected Child Reporting Act, 325 ILCS 5/1 et seq. (the "Act"); and

WHEREAS, the Act requires that recreational or athletic program or facility personnel having reasonable cause to believe a child known to them in their professional or official capacity may be an abused child or a neglected child shall immediately report or cause a report to be made to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services;

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. To the extent and as required by the Act, the Chicago Park District Child Abuse and Neglect Policy (the "Policy") identifies all Chicago Park District (the "District") employees as mandated reporters as it relates to child abuse and neglect. As required by the Act, any and all District employees must report suspected child abuse and neglect to the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).

SECTION 2. Subsequent to the Policy, the District has established abused and neglected child reporting procedures.

SECTION 3. A copy of the Chicago Park District Child Abuse and Neglect Policy, along with reporting procedures, shall be included in the Chicago Park District Department of Human Resources Policy and Procedure Manual and made available on the District's intranet site.

SECTION 4. To the extent that the Code of the Chicago Park District or any ordinance, resolution, rule, order or provision of the District, or part thereof, is in conflict with the provisions of this resolution, the provisions of this resolution shall govern and control to the extent necessary to effectuate the intent of the Act.
