RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REVISED SEXUAL HARASSMENT POLICY

To: The Honorable Board of Commissioners of the Chicago Park District
WHEREAS, the Illinois General Assembly has recently enacted the Public Act 100-0554 et seq. (the “Act”), which became effective immediately, dated November 16, 2017; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act, each governmental unit shall adopt a resolution or ordinance establishing a policy to prohibit sexual harassment;
WHEREAS, all prior existing sexual harassment policies of the Chicago Park District, shall be superseded by the revised Sexual Harassment Policy adopted by this resolution and in compliance with the requirements identified in the Act; and
WHEREAS, should any section or provision of this resolution or the adopted Sexual Harassment Policy be declared to be invalid, that decision shall not affect the validity of this resolution or adopted Sexual Harassment Policy as a whole or any part thereof, other than the part so declared to be invalid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CHICAGO PARK DISTRICT BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS:
SECTION 1. The Chicago Park District’s revised Sexual Harassment Policy, included as Exhibit A to this Resolution is hereby adopted.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect after its passage.
