I. Recommendation

It is recommended that the General Superintendent and CEO or his designee enter into a contract with Pan-Oceanic Engineering Co. Inc. for the construction of the Lakefront Trail Separation from Ardmore Ave. to Montrose Ave. The contractor was selected pursuant to an Invitation to Bid (IFB) issued to the Rapid Response pre-qualified pool of general contractors. No work may commence and no payment shall be made to vendor prior to the execution of a written agreement.

Scope of Services: Scope of work represents the next segment of Lakefront Trail Separation. The Park District is developing trail separation between bicycle movement and pedestrian movement along Lakefront. This current section of trail separation work is between Ardmore Ave. and Montrose Ave. approximately 2.25 miles. The scope of work for this section includes removal of portions of existing Lakefront Trail where necessary, excavation, stone base, new asphalt for bicycle and/or pedestrian trail as needed, new striping and trial markings , seal coating of existing trail sections to remain and trail signage.
