RESOLUTION HONORING TIMOTHY LATER FOR HIS YEARS OF SERVICE

                     WHEREAS, the Chicago Park District takes great pleasure and pride in recognizing its employees who have dedicated numerous years of service to the Park District and the City of Chicago; and

 

                     WHEREAS, Timothy Later has greatly contributed to the Park District’s goals, and exemplifies the meaning of hard work, commitment, and passion to the District and City of Chicago as a valued employee; and

 

                     WHEREAS, he received his Master’s in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago and worked as Executive Director of the Near West Side Community Development Corporation; and

 

                     WHEREAS, he dedicated 12 years of service to the District and 12 years of service to its sister agencies: the Chicago Department of Transportation , Chicago Transit Authority and served in the City’s Department of Planning collectively, totaling nearly 25 years of service; and 

 

                     WHEREAS, Mr. Later served the best interests of the District under the leadership of four Chicago Park District Board Presidents, three Vice Presidents and nineteen Commissioners; and

 

WHEREAS, he was the liaison between the Chicago Park District and the Museums in the Parks; and

 

                     WHEREAS, he provided leadership on various boards, including the Lincoln Park Society, Stockton Drive Parking as a representative of the District, and as a founding member of the Chicago Parks Foundation; and

 

                     WHEREAS, he has provided invaluable services to the Board of Commissioners, park patrons and communities; then, therefore;

 

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners and the General Superintendent, extend our heartfelt gratitude to Timothy Later, for his years of dedication and commitment to the District and to the citizens of the City of Chicago  and sincerely wishes him success, good health, and happiness as he enters the next Chapter of his life.
