AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH THE
GARFIELD PARK CONSERVATORY ALLIANCE

To the Honorable Board of Commissioners of the Chicago Park District:

I. Recommendation

It is recommended that an order be entered authorizing the General Superintendent or his designee to enter into a grant agreement with the Garfield Park Conservatory Alliance.

II. Contract Terms

Contract Period: Two years with three 1-year extensions

* $200,000 annual grant to the Alliance for the fulfillment of the Alliance's mission.

* Operational funding for the Alliance to provide maintenance, janitorial services, and greeter services in the amount of $237,000, with an annual increase of 2% or CPI, whichever is lower.

* Funding Not To Exceed $100,000 as reimbursement for exhibit preparation and capital expenses.

* Event rental revenue above $50,000 and up to $280,000 shall go to the Alliance for the fulfillment of the Alliance's mission. Event rental revenue above $280,000 will be split between the CPD and the Alliance.



Authorization: Authorize the General Counsel to include other relevant terms and conditions in the written Agreement. Authorize the General Superintendent to execute the Agreement and the Secretary to attest as to the signing of the Agreement and keep an original copy of the Agreement on file.

IV. General Conditions

1. Conflicts: No agreement authorized herein shall be legally binding on the Chicago Park District if entered into in violation of the provisions of the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act, 50 ILCS 105/0.01 et seq.
