THE GRANT PARK ORCHESTRAL ASSOCIATION DOING BUSINESS FOR
THE GRANT PARK MUSIC FESITVAL

To the honorable Board of Commissioners of the Chicago Park District:
I. Recommendation
It is recommended that an order be entered authorizing the General Superintendent or his designee to enter into an agreement with the Grant Park Orchestral Association (GPOA) to provide services for the Grant Park Music Festival (the "Festival"). GPOA is a nonprofit entity that operates and produces the Festival as an internationally recognized choral and orchestral summer event series at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, the Harris Theater and multiple Park District locations throughout the City of Chicago. All events are free and open to the public. Additionally, this organization provides educational programming opportunities to children enrolled in the Chicago Park District Sumer Day Camp as well as children and adults attending concerts and open rehearsals. No work may commence and no payment shall be made to the contract prior to the execution of a written agreement.
