AUTHORIZATION TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH LAKESHORE RECYCLING SYSTEMS, LLC FOR DEBRIS DUMPING TRANSFER STATION SERVICES

It is recommended that an order be entered authorizing the General Superintendent or his designee to enter into a contract with Lakeshore Recycling Systems LLC for debris dumping transfer stations. This contractor was selected pursuant to a publicly advertised Invitation for Bid. No work may commence and no payment shall be made prior to the execution of a written agreement.
II. Award Information

Contract Period: Two (2) year initial term with three (3) one-year extension options. If the extension options are exercised, funding shall be based upon annual appropriations.
Contract Amount: $458,600 for the initial contract term. Expenditures for services under each extension term will be authorized by annual appropriation and subject to each year's budget.
Affirmative Action
Goals: The Minority- and Women-Owned Participation for this contract include: 25% Minority-Owned and 5% Women-Owned.
Scope of Services: The CPD regularly collects debris along the lakefront and in the parks and delivers the debris to dumping transfer stations. The collected debris is approximately 90% from along the lakefront and 10% from the parks. The Awardee will operate the transfer station(s) where the CPD will dump the debris it collects. Debris that will be dumped at the Awardee's transfer stations(s) include: (i) asphalt; (ii) cardboard; (iii) concrete (iv) dirt; (v) food waste; (vi) glass; (viii) gravel; (ix) paper; and (x) plastic.
The Awardee must have sufficient capacity to accept at the amount of debris that the CPD will dump at the Awardee's transfer station
