VI. Explanation of Recommendation
The Director of Purchasing and the Director of Facility Management request approval by the Board to authorize the third one-year contract extension options with Marco Supply Company, Inc. D/B/A Johnson Pipe and Supply Corp. and Littmann Industries, Inc..
The Department of Facility Management (DFM) is responsible for repairing and maintaining Chicago Park District facilities districtwide and requires access to vendors that can provide plumbing supplies on an as-needed basis throughout the year. These supplies support both indoor and outdoor maintenance needs and include items such as faucets, valves, various types and sizes of pipe, toilets, fittings, washroom components, and drainage materials. Having these contracts in place enable the DFM to efficiently meet operational demands at fair and reasonable prices, ensuring the continued upkeep of several hundred heavily used facilities across the Park District.
Therefore, it is in the best interest of the Chicago Park District to grant the third of four one-year extension options, with the negotiated prices and no change to the contract values, to the awarded contracted vendors of Marco Supply Company, Inc. D/B/A Johnson Pipe and Supply Corp. and Littmann Industries, Inc. for the applicable categories.
VII. General Conditions

3) Contingent Liability: Any agreement lawfully entered into for a period of more than one year shall be executory only for the amounts for which the Park District may become liable in succeeding fiscal years pursuant to 70 ILCS 1505/17(i).
4) Economic Disclosure Statement (“EDS”): The contractors have submitted full and complete EDSs prior to submission to the Board.
